Setting: 6:30 AM Saturday morning. Mom's shift continues...
Original plan: Feed Grant his typical plain yogurt and berries for breakfast.
Revised plan: Just give him the dang spoon and let him get yogurt all over himself, his pajamas, me, the floor, his face and high chair.
Lesson learned: Some things are just not worth fighting for, especially at 6:30 in the moring.

Possible diagnosis: Oppositional
defiant disorder... OR... "just a phase"
The cold, hard, truth: Grant is just like his mother, so move over and let him do it HIS way.
I got to thinking: Wow, when I actually step back and let him feed himself, he really does a pretty decent job. It's usually my micro-managing and "teaching" that causes the crying, the flying food and a very unhappy little boy, not to mention a crazy mama.
Here's to a perfectly healthy, developing little boy!
