An inspiring video on motherhood

Most of you probably know Stephanie's story. My sister-in-law found this video and I just had to share it. I have moments, sometimes entire days of unhappiness. I am quite sure that those are the days I have failed to be grateful. What a special gift it is to have a body to house my spirit. What a gift it is to have my little Grant, who teaches me every day how to be a mother.

It's just water!

I was excited to take Grant to the pop up jets at an outdoor mall. He was jazzed about putting on his new swim outfit from Grandma Dot, but didn't realize he'd actually have to get wet.

He stared at the babies playing in the water and wondered why they didn't get out of the way when the jets came on. He thought the whole concept was rather upsurd.

I tried forcing him to jump over it, smash it or run through it. "It's just water, Buddy!" This is the closest he got. And since the pet store just was next door...

That's ultimately where he ended up.

Vegas

Here's a recap of our Vegas trip last week. Grant and I went while Will was in Chicago for work. We visited 2 of my old mission friends. Grant had a blast playing with new things and crushing Mindi's little girl. He kept calling her "baby" even though she's only 6 months younger. She weighs 16 pounds! So cute. We totally underdressed for the weather, bringing only shorts and T-shirts. I had to put my sweater on G when we hiked. He looks like an Ewok.

Auntie Dana's so fun!

Grant is tucked away on my back. He slept like a baby!

Thanks for the fun weekend, friends!

Tic Tacs

The other day, I got out of the shower and didn't hear anything. Hmm. I looked for Grant because I knew he was up to something. Our conversation went like this:

Me: Grant, what do you have? Where are all the tic tacs?

Grant: I eat it!

Me: What? That was almost full... where are they?

Grant: All gone (shaking his hands).

Me: Let me see (coming closer I look in his mouth).

Grant: Pppphhh (Grant breathes out the freshest breath I've ever smelled).

Yes, he wasn't lyin'. He'd eaten the entire container of wintergreen tic tacs.
