Well, well, well... is anyone still looking at our blog? It's been forever since I posted anything. Yes, I started working the end of May and our lives have gotten crazy again, but in a fun and good way. I'll update you later on my dream job. Grant turned 2 on June 18th. Yeah, little Buddy! We had the real celebration about a month early when we visited Bill and Dorothy in Ohio. They made him a truck cake and spoiled him rotten with toys and zoo animals. Aunt Linda bought him some undies... she's coming later to potty train him! :)
Grandpa Bill took us all to the zoo for some fun. Grant had not been since we lived in Seattle, so he was reallllyy excited. So was Grandpa.
The Beavers were his favorite (I think they were beavers...) and who could resist the gorillas, especially when they started pooping in their hands to enjoy an afternoon snack.
Ohio summer nights are a little chillier than AZ. But that meant gathering around the fire and eating dutch oven cobbler.
We went to a huge "truck show"- basically every little boy's dream: fire trucks, dump trucks, cement trucks, trucks with horns and Bob the Builder trucks with scoops and plows.
He's so excited, he can't even stand it.
Will and I escaped for a few days and took a trip to Detroit, while Grant stayed back with Grams and Gramps and Auntie. We went to Cedar Point and screamed our faces off...
We also went to the Henry Ford museum, which had so many random pieces of history that we absolutely loved. Outside there were several old houses from poets like Robert Frost and some remnants of a plantation. This little brick house was a slaves' quarters for an entire family. It was humbling to learn more about what happened on those plantations.
Here's a house built in Europe in the 1800's. Also, this is the car JFK was shot in!
One of my favorite parts of the museum was the tribute to women, highlighting the amazing accomplishments that women have had over the past century, including Women's Suffrage and Rosa Parks famous refusal to sit in the back of the bus, just because of the color of her skin.
Trip to Lake Erie... just a few minutes from G and G's house.

I was just trying to figure out how close Grant and Maycie are in age. Now I know he just turned two. He's older by just two months. Can't wait to see you guys!!!

What cute pictures of your family! The boys loved seeing all of them...Clayton's first words were: "But why do they have a hat and NOT GRANT?" He's concerned that Grant felt left out.:) haha Looks like you guys have been having a lot of fun lately. Can't wait to see all of you soon!!
