The plane room

For the first 2 years in our house, we never decorated Grant's room.  We talked about Disney characters and Winnie the Pooh themes but it all seemed too babyish.  When Owen came along and we knew the boys would be sharing a room, we had change those boring white walls.  Grant loves planes and we all love to travel, so we came up with this theme and we love how it turned out.  Check out the mobile!  Will designed, cut and assembled each piece by hand, then rigged up some wires to hang and balance the planes.  He must have put 25 hours into that mobile, but at least we didn't spend the $95 at Pottery Barn on the generic one they were selling.  The other antique planes were bought at Hobby Lobby, using half-off coupons and the map cost us a few dollars.  Will added a chair railing and beautiful blue paint for some color.  I scored the bedding for cheap at IKEA.  All in all... a very sucessful project.
