Utah for Sandy's wedding!

It seems that every year, whether or not we plan to, we end up in Utah for a short visit.  This time it was for Sandy's wedding on August 18th.  She and Dorothy "stopped by" AZ to pick up Grant on their way to UT, which meant that Will and I could road trip a few days later with just Owen.  We piled in the mini (yes, everything fit) and drove all night.  It was very much like the time we went from Seattle to SLC when Grant was the exact same age.  Are we lucky to get 2 babies who sleep for 10-12 hour drives??  Owen was a champ...and so was Will as he snoozed through most of the drive there.  Of course, one of our first "must see" places was Temple Square!  We attempted to get the same picture we did 3 years ago...

But instead we got this one... me yelling at Grant to smile, or else and Will trying to tickle/ bribe him.  The picture that followed that one was of Owen screaming because Grant just landed on his head after Will tried to throw him in the air in hopes of getting a happier, more cooperative boy.  

 We also had to enjoy the cooler weather by hiking a popular spot- Rock Canyon... brought back my days of climbing when I lived in Provo.  Please excuse Owen's crazy eyebrows in these pictures.  It was impossible to get him to look at the camera, let alone smile. 

  

  

 Ok.  Owen's severely concerned look is for a good reason.  He has since gotten used to Grant's "hugs."

Before we left, Grant spotted some hikers that were, umm, walking their bird?

Aahh... cousin time.  This was the highlight of Grant's trip, besides the cookies and ice cream at Sandy's wedding.  He LOVED playing with Celia and telling her what to do.

This was Grant's expression when we came out of the temple, after Sandy and Michael were sealed.  He was very MAD that he could not go in to see Sandy get married.  So hard to explain it to a 3 year old!

And this is where we found Owen, of course.  Aunt Linda practically ran out of the temple to meet him for the first time.

Another story that makes headline news... Jenni's got a boyfriend, pizza, pizza daddy-o... AND that boyfriend had a little talk with Papa Bill on the day of Sandy's wedding!  Awesome.  Yes, Bill and Dorothy will have one more daughter getting married and we will have one more road trip to Utah.

We took a long break in Kanab on the way back to AZ.  It was well worth it.

  

Thanks for getting married, Sandy!  Jenni, you're lucky we like you so much, otherwise we would not repeat all this fun RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS.  You crazy girl.
